Mandelman 2010

I love this town... I loved it back when I used to fly up to San Francisco on school holidays to visit my grandmother and see the Big City. I loved it when I moved here at 11, and somewhere between studying at Brandeis and Lick, running in Golden Gate Park and along Ocean Beach, and wandering the hills and neighborhoods of this most beautiful metropolis, I found my way to adulthood. Today, a grown-up in the City where I grew up, my appreciation for its history, its people, and its values has only grown.

That’s why I’m running for Supervisor in District 8, the heart of San Francisco. District 8 includes the Castro, Noe Valley, Diamond Heights, Glen Park, and the Western part of the Mission.

The Bay Times Endorses Rafael

October 28th, 2010

The Bay Times came out with a very strong endorsement of Rafael yesterday.

San Francisco has a proud tradition of being cutting edge, at the forefront of leading the country in social change, and there is one – and only one – candidate in the race for the supervisor to represent The Castro who fits that bill, and that is Rafael Mandelman.

There’s more! Read it all.

Mobilization with a Senator, a Supervisor, and a Legend

October 23rd, 2010

In his years of working to make San Francisco a better place, Rafael’s made a lot of friends with his honesty, integrity, and hard work. Today, a few of those friends turned out to help with the campaign.

Senator Yee

State Senator Leland Yee kicked off the mobilization, “Rafael is not one to raise his voice,” he said, “but he’s someone who always speaks up for what he believes in.”

Cleve Jones, a legend in San Francisco gay politics, and one of the driving forces behind the making of the movie Milk, said, “I know who Harvey would support, and it’s Rafael.”

Another endorsement

October 23rd, 2010

Web Magazine LezGetReal.com endorsed Rafael today, stating

my endorsement must go to Rafael Mandelman, the most progressive candidate in my view, yes, but that is not all -there is a vast mindset difference between someone who is trained and works as an assistant DA prosecuting for the City, compared to one who works representing people in the arenas impacted by Supervisors. involving the very depth of understanding of issues that will be required of the elected candidate.

The magazine, subtitled “A Gay Girl’s View on the World” joins dozens of organizations and hundreds of individuals in supporting Rafael’s run for supervisor.
